Third Year CLEIMUN Attendees: Saint Edward High School, Saint Joseph Academy, and Mentor High School
This year, CLEIMUN will be celebrating its third anniversary. For many schools who have been with CLEIMUN since its humble beginnings in 2015, they have seen this conference grow tremendously in size and scope into what it is today. Among the many schools who have been with us since the beginning it is no secret that Saint Edward High School is one of the most notable. CLEIMUN has been proud to call Saint Edward a sponsor from its early days. Saint Edward, an all-boys Catholic High School in Lakewood, Ohio, is rooted in the Holy Cross Tradition which “educates the minds and hearts of young men to have the competence to see and the courage to act as men of faith.” Working with Director, Mr. Michael Perrins, and the Cleveland Council of World Affairs, Saint Edward has been a key player in making CLEIMUN what it is today. They hosted CLEIMUN’s first-ever conference back in 2015 and have continued to support CLEIMUN through promoting our mission and sending their own MUN team to compete.
Saint Joseph Academy has also been a proud attendee of CLEIMUN since 2015. A Catholic, all-girls college preparatory school located on Cleveland’s West Side, Saint Joseph Academy prides itself on preparing students for the world of college by providing a plethora of Advanced Placement classes and giving students many opportunities to excel outside the classroom as well. Saint Joseph Academy has brought forth many notable leaders in CLEIMUN history, with Secretary Claudia Stephens ‘18 and deputy Secretary General, Alexis DeFreitas ‘18, both attending Saint Joseph Academy. We are proud to call them a longtime supporter of CLEIMUN.
Mentor High School has also been a prominent member of the CLEIMUN family, having attended every conference since the beginning in 2015. Mentor High School, a public, co-ed institution located in Mentor, Ohio. Known for having an excellent college preparatory program and for providing students with many opportunities to learn and grow outside of the classroom. We are very proud to have worked with them for the past three years. Mentor has been an outstanding school in CLEIMUN history and has provided excellent student leaders. We’re very excited to see what they bring to the table this year and look forward to working with them in the future.
