Security Council has just passed a resolution originally submitted by the United States which focuses on humanitarian aid and food shortages in Venezuela. The resolution aims to solve this issue by imploring all member nations to offer whatever aid they can to Venezuela, as well as creating a new UN body, SILOS (South-American Independent League of Observing States), to monitor their progress. By passing this resolution, the Security Council prioritized diversifying and stabilizing Venezuela’s economy by means of corporate and international investment in the region.
