New Attendees at CLEIMUN18
CLEIMUN18 has been lucky enough to receive several new high schools to play a part in the mission of cooperation and resolution that is upheld by all who participate. Saint Peter’s College, Bard High School Early College, Hawken High School, Chardon High School, and Walled Lake High School are all currently participating in CLEIMUN for the first time, and are already contributing to the atmosphere of building relationships and solving issues.
Saint Peter’s College is an all-male Catholic Secondary School in Auckland, New Zealand. With over 1300 students, it is one of the largest Catholic schools in New Zealand. Established in 1939, the school still remains in its original site with its original name. This is CLEIMUN’s first experience with Saint Peter’s College and hopes to foster a relationship with them in the conferences to come.
Bard High School Early College is a Cleveland High School that allows students to take a two year free of charge college course of study. Bard’s students graduate with a high school diploma and up to 60 college credits and an associate’s degree from Bard College.
Hawken High School is an independent, co-ed college prep school in Northeast Ohio, and contains two main campuses, one in Lyndhurst and the other in Chester Township, and also contains an urban campus in University Circle. The college prep school houses about 950 students and also serves as a pe-k through eighth grade school. Hawken has several programs that provide its students with international travel.
Chardon High School is a public school in Chardon, serving grades 9-12. They hold over 1500 students and 60 teachers, and hold several athletic championships, namely in track and cross country, wrestling, and tennis.
Some schools have traveled great length to be at CLEIMUN. Walled Lake High School is a public high school established in 1959 located in Metro Detroit, Michigan. It has had an extremely successful marching band, holding a several state championships and even performing in the Macy’s halftime show in 2015. We appreciate the effort it has taken to arrive here and value their contribution greatly. We hope to welcome all of our new attendees to the CLEIMUN conferences to come.
