Ecology and Environmental Passes Resolution Addressing Barriers to Clean Drinking Water

Ecology and Environmental has passed a resolution submitted by Israel which focuses on the simplifying the amount of clean water wasted. Fines will be placed upon countries when water is wasted during droughts and international standards are encouraged to be set to limit water usage. Through the idea of integrated water management, water conservations and distribution will receive more recognition. The suggested formation of UNWET (United Nations special committee on Wastewater Efficiency and Treatment) will regulate more wastewater facilities and monitor efficient water usage. This will carry on for years to come by emphasizing the importance of staying clear from polluted water to students in school at young ages.
