Important Update: Approvals Panel Information for CLEIMUN18
On Day 1 of CLEIMUN18, all delegates will receive The Plain Delegate: Day 1 Guide. This is an eight-page guide that has essential information for all participants ahead of the three-day conference. A page in this guide is dedicated to the Approvals Panel, the body where resolutions are submitted to, approved, and sorted prior to debates in each committee. Detailed instructions on how the Approvals Panel operates, along with the steps to submit a resolution, are included in the aforementioned guide. However, important changes have been made ahead of CLEIMUN18 that all participants and advisers need to be aware of. The bulletins below enact changes from the CLEIMUN17 Approvals Panel:
1) Delegates no longer need to produce a paper copy of their resolutions when submitting to the Approvals Panel. However, delegates must have a paper copy for lobbying and merging. It is suggested that delegates print these out beforehand, as One Cleveland Center does not have the capability to print resolutions.
2) Oliver Hirschfield, a Special Rapporteur and the Chair of the Approvals Panel will make the final decision regarding what resolutions are debated in committee.
For reference, the Approvals Panel is comprised of the CLEIMUN18 Special Rapporteurs: Oliver Hirschfield and Andreas Payne, of whom is also the Crisis Director. Visiting advisers and directors also assist in the Approvals Panel processes.
