The Human Rights Council passed a strong resolution sponsored by Thailand which addressed the pressing issue of human trafficking worldwide. The resolution proposes an adoption of a committee to manage global trafficking activity as well as supporting member states already active in combating the issue by increasing assistance and education in at-risk areas. Furthermore, Thailand called for the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to create a central database, to be partnered with international intelligence agencies, which will aid in compiling information on trafficking criminals, victims, and networks.
